Firm Profile

Byron Bird And Associates, Chartered was started by Byron G. Bird in February of 1959. Byron was the first recipient of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Public Service Award. He has also received the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA) Public Service Award. Byron was honored by a KSCPA scholarship given in his name.

Since the initial formation, the firm has grown into the present professional corporation consisting of two shareholders and a total of 5 personnel. The firm has maintained Byron’s philosophy of serving not only our clients but also our community.

Meet the Shareholders

Linda Billings - CPA:

Linda received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Kansas State University. She has over 35 years of public accounting experience.

Linda is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Southwest Chapter of the KSCPA. Linda has been treasurer of Liberal Area Rape Crisis Domestic Violence for over 25 years. She is a life member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the Harley Owners Group.

In her spare time, Linda likes to read books and ride on her Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Catherine Harper - CPA:

Cathy received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree with majors in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, and Business Administration from Eastern New Mexico University. She received her Master of Business Administration degree from Regis University. She has over 30 years of public and private accounting experience.

Cathy is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the National Society of Accountants, and the Southwest Chapter of the KSCPA. Cathy has served on the board of the Southwest Chapter of the KSCPA, is a member of the Liberal Noon Lions club, and is an editorial advisor for the AICPA Journal of Accountancy.

Cathy enjoys traveling to visit friends and family, boating, and swimming.
